Singularity – The Game

This is the shooting game that takes you to a timeless island which moves you with its mysterious backdrops and carries on with the first person gaming style. Sometimes it does seem to be a mindless shooting game taking all its ingredients from similar superior games to construct its basic mechanism.
The game starts with a US helicopter landing in a mysterious island named Katorga-12 while patrolling the reason behind the strong surge that was responsible for destroying a military satellite. The island has seemingly lost life and any of its connections since the year of 1955. This introduction to the game is no doubt outstanding even though there can be a comparison drawn with Bioshock. The protagonist of the game spends the preliminary part of the game in struggling to survive against all the odds in the island, gradually upgrading himself with all the modern scientific updates which, however, were originally the cause of the entire destruction.
The significant part of this game is spent in a somber atmosphere which leads to an intense and fascinating journey to feel that something extra-ordinary is about to happen. On the contrary, the game moves to a more banal position as it slowly moves to the end of it. However, for a gamer who does not want to complete a game to know what comes next, Singularity might offer something worth mentioning. It is more about the ones who wish see it through to get disappointed.

Game review: Street Fighter
Street Fighter is a game from Capcom that has fired the imagination of lots of users and avid gamers. And this is quite something that is attributable to the fact that Capcom has been changing and tweaking as well as rebalancing the game at its very base quite effectively. There are as many as many new fighters in the game and a number of discrepancies have been adjusted so that the balance between the old and the new, the traditional and the contemporary may be established and also maintained. It seems that Street Fighter will be one of the best values for money games that you can watch out for over the course of the year.
The advantage of the game is that the roster balance is improved as well as online modes that allow a lot of group play. In addition you have new fighters that offer various play styles. On the other hand the trial mode also has a demo move feature which is not all that great. As far as the roster goes, Hakan is also an odd addition which is not very explicable and stands out as a sore thumb. The game has a lot of aspects that are refreshingly new and will surely catch your eye immediately.

Game Review: Fret Nice
There are some games that are quite inimitable as well as exquisite in terms of characteristics and features. One of these games is Fret Nice which is based on musical content and elements that are based on a guitar based game. This is a game that has s control method that is quite unique and also a soundtrack that is Great Greek-rock in nature. The graphics are also vibrant and stylish too. But some people feel that the game is better off without guitar controls as well as a simple platformer that is simple and easy to use. The problem with the replaying levels which seem to get a bit old and hackneyed.
The Fret Nice game is a 2d downloadable game which has at its very core a platforming game which is side scrollable. It is possible to use the Rock Band or Guitar Hero controller that is quite amazing, to say the least. The fret keys are able to move left and right and when you are in the air after tilting the guitar neck up, you can play the guitar thereby destroying your enemies quite with aplomb. All of these features and elements make Fret Nice quite an enjoyable and lovable game that you should check out.

Game Review: Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect was a blockbuster sci-fi game by Bioware that had a lot of followers as well as fans. It is no wonder then that the game has so many people who would like to check out the sequel in the form of Mass Effect 2 that has been awaited for quite some time now. This is a game that has quite exquisite storytelling and also exciting combat. This makes people quite interested in the game and holds their attention too. There is indeed quite a lot more to expect in the game than you can wonder about. But the problem is that it has mining tests that can test your fingers as well as patience too.
Mass Effect 2 comes as a sequel to Mass Effect which had some niggling design problems. The game had a lot of ambition as well as lots of critical acclaim also. The game had good story telling and character development as well as squad combat. This is why Mass Effect 2 has had to reinvent many of its core elements and aspects and it is heartening that the game is able to accomplish this as it is able to streamline and improve the design elements to a large extent.

Game review – Splinter Cell: Conviction
Tom Clancy has been an old hand at game design and development. He has had quite a few games that he has not only conceptualized but also executed to perfection. His latest offering in the series is Splinter Cell: Conviction, which is quite different from all the other games in the series of four, this is a stripped down game that is much leaner but much heavier in the action department, which rally suits a lot of avid gamers. There is a wonderful co-op mode and this means that you have game that is worth waiting for and playing with gusto once you have your hands on it. There are some things going well for the game. It is slick in movement and also very fast in combat.
The mark and execute function is quite a deal while the co-op story works very well indeed and you get a fine twist to the tale to add to it. On the cons, there is a feeling that it doesn’t feel like a typical Splinter Cell game, and for some people the mark and execute seems to be too good for comfort. The stealth line is sometimes too stealthy and hence hard to mark.

WarioWare D.I.Y: Game Review
The WarioWare D.I.Y game is based on the concept of using a number of rather bizarre and ridiculous ideas that have to do with game design. You get the chance to design a game in D.I.Y. mode, which is why it is essential to look at how to game runs before you attempt it. This is where it is good that the game offers a tutorial to help you with getting started off with the game. It is also a fact that the game allows you to do almost anything that the Nintendo designers do, which means that you have the creative license to do quite a lot as far as the game goes. You can actually go ahead and take a look at existing games and re-do them quite well and creatively.
As far as the cons go, the WarioWare D.I.Y game is not or the impatient as it does involve a lot of time and effort that goes into getting the game right. This is a game that has caught the attention of many folks as it has a fresh look at the micro aspects of the game. It almost seems as if the game has been developed by designers who are under the influence of some substance.

Game Review: Prison Break
There are some games that are popular TV series, and when users want to get back to the show even after it has stopped airing. They can relive the magic by means of the online games that are created around the TV shows that had gained iconic status. One such game is Prison Break, which makes it possible for fans to get into the Fox Penitentiary and enjoy the proceedings of the goings on there. For one, the character voices that have been taken in from the TV series add to the authenticity of the game. The game also throws a fresh perspective on the storyline of the game, which is all so alluring. On the other hand, some say that the versus mode on the game is boring and the combat is also not up to expectations.
Prison Break is also damned by critics who say it does not have much value play. Again, the action is said to be a just hold a candle to Splinter Cell clone, and it lacks the thrills and the chills of that game. Here, it seems you have to complete a list of routine and boring tasks that get you almost nowhere. And even if you are a great fan of the TV show, it’s not enough, is it?

Game review: Toy Soldiers
Signal Studios is one game design studio that has seen to have a lot of success in designing games that delight the masses. One such game is that of Toy Soldiers where the tin troops are seen to travel from the trenched to toy boxes. This is a World War I tower defense game which has arcade style shooting sequences that are all so inimitable. There are many who feel that Toy Soldiers is a game that proves that good things often come in very small packages. The pros of this game are that you can jump into units to fire at the enemies and at the same time it is possible to control tanks and the biplanes that are all so miniature in nature. The game has very strong replay value too.
But the problem is that you cannot save during a battle and there is no co-op play option. The battlefields are also rather small. You can directly attack waves of soldiers as they try to storm your defenses and make you quite feel in charge of the situation. The game also has a brief tutorial which you can play to get a look and feel of the game, such that there is no confusion later.

Game review: White Knight Chronicles
The White Knight Chronicles game has both single role playing as well as online co-operative question options, which are not so nice, but which need to be taken into account so as to assess the utility and the efficacy of the game. The game has quite a few plus as well as minus points that need to be taken into account. For one the game has nifty and customizable villages that make the game so much more interesting. In addition to this, there are challenging online quests as well as compelling crafting too which mean that it does justice to you entertainment needs.
On the cons or the scope for improvement side, the game is dull as dirt in terms of the plot and the characters could have been better designed. There are many social tools that are feature rich and which make the game quite complicated. The hero takes center stage and you are sometimes relegated to the background. The game tries to straddle the worlds of single player and multi player modes, but does nothing like the Jean Claude Van Damme kind of effect. Straddling both the disparate worlds is not the easiest thing and this is woefully evident in the game here.

Game review: Darksiders
There are a lot of games that have been released in the new year which depict the classical fight and the struggle between good and evil, darkness and light, God and devil. These are known as the ecumenical forces, the quintessential conflict between the good and the bad. This is what is promised in Darksiders which is a new Holy war version of a game. There are some aspects of the game that are good. For one, it is familiar, which means that you are in known territory and do not have to blunder on in new arenas. Similarly, this game is also a good concept for a sequel, which means that it is quite great for those who want to enjoy the salient aspects of the game that they had liked earlier.
The cons of the game are that it is not unique and does not really stand out from other games that have come in previously. The combat seems to be sound as far as technicalities go, but it is quite shallow. The lack of originality is one of the main drawbacks of the game as it draws inspiration from other games released previously. But all in all, it is a pleasant game with its moments of thrill and engagement which can hold you quite mesmerized.
