Game review: Fat Princess
Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is a lovely treat of a game that is quite lovely and also wonderful in its charms and in this it is quite comparable to small Snickers that you can expect at Halloween. But then you are not to get much of a short shift when it comes to the supply of goodies when you play this game. This is now a game that is quite updated as well as new handheld version that is not only able to hold its own but also ensure that you get all the thrills and the frills that you will expect from a cute game such as this. The game is now a fully stuffed multi-player version that has a number of brand sequences that are quite brand new and also very refreshing, to say the least. This is a gameplay that is well adapted to fit to a platform that is quite handheld. In addition to this you also see that it has a wonderful and upgraded port and also PSP content that is value rich as well as exclusive.
On the other hand the game also has its share of pitfalls. For one it does not have a headset support and this is what makes strategizing rather tough. In addition to this the overhead map is also very invasive and you do not have AI squad commands.
Metro 2033: Game Review
When it comes to games and game review, there are some things that you always or invariably notice about East European games. Yes, these games can be good at times and also interesting bit in many of the cases these games are mostly rather dark, and bleak. The background is set in shades of black and grey which means that you can hardly make out the figures and also the plot sometimes. This was true of Stalker a game as well as the new title which is called Metro 2033. These dark and dank elements seem to be present even in Metro 2033 and you can very well imagine as to the kind of effect that this has on the game overall and your mood in particular when and if you choose to play the game.
With Metro 2033, you have to travel up and down Moscow alleys where you meet up with and have to counter dangerous hordes. The weaponry is rather basic and very minimalistic which means that you do not get the chance to spray too much ammo. The game Metro 2033 is set in Moscow after much of the world has already been destroyed by a nuclear holocaust. But there are undesirable and hostile mutants that can do you serious harm.
Game Review – Hunted : Demon’s Forge
Brian Fargo has been a legend in the gaming world he has held sway for long, with the company Interplay which he founded. Brian Fargo had said that he would like to update and also upgrade the games from yester years, which would help gamers to enjoy these games with gusto and lots of interest all over again. This is one of the reasons why a lot of gamers wanted to check out Demon’s Forge, to see if it would be an improvement on the fare that was there earlier. While this is not so easy, you can imagine that with Brain people were quite hopeful, because of his stellar track record. So when the curtain was lifted on Demon’s Forge, there were hopes that this would be quite path breaking and also very inimitable.
But then when you see Demon’s Forge, you know that the pedigree does not help as the game is not even an RPG. It is more of a version of Gears of War that takes in so many elements of fantasy. There is a great deal of action and there are enemy hordes that the main players have to take on and defeat. There are some subplots and storylines that are weird and strange to say the least.
Game review: Endless Ocean
There are some themes of games are extremely interesting and absorbing. These games have such a promise of excitement as well as attraction that you would expect a lot of the game. One of these games is Endless Ocean, which has the promise of being so absorbing and extremely riveting to engage the most ardent of game players. While the promise is there, the reality does not really live up to the promise. The main setting of the game of Endless Ocean is such that it makes you a diver, who is able to go down into the very depths of the ocean and look for treasure which is what makes it quite interesting.
There are some things about Endless Ocean that take away from the overall experience and its thrills, which include bad writing and sloppy production, just to name a few of its ills. It is almost the gaming experience equivalent of what are known as the bends in diving parlance, where you fail to decompress when coming back to the ocean surface, causing lots of pain and discomfort galore. But even then, as a diver, it is quite an experience to look at getting into the deep blue ocean and come up so close with all the many adventures that lie beneath.
Game Review: Ratchet & Clank
There are some times when you just have to take a call as to what you want to do with things that you may have created, but which are getting along in years. There are also times when you have to realize that ‘ it’s okay to kill your babies’. This is what was told by Insomniac Games President, Ted Trice, which was in the context of games like Alan Wake and also Borderlands. There was a similar situation, when the game Ratchet & Clank was being developed by Ted. It seemed as if the story line of a girl running around with a stick in the Mayan environment was not really cutting much ice with the developers. The game would in any case be considered as a game with mature content and context. It was also quite a dark game, that would have caused such a rating to happen.
This is one of the main reasons that why if you start off with something, it is not necessary that you continue along with that, even if it is not shaping up very well. This is because there was some engagement as well as an attachment to a game under development.
Game review of Star Ocean
The RPG experience in online games is something that has mesmerized a lot of people and kept them quite spellbound. This is not surprising given the fact that the game is riveting to the core, and does its best to keep you absolutely spell bound to its many charms. That is why Star Ocean the Last Hope is one game that a lot of folks are hoping and waiting, for given its amazing and quite alluring features that have captured the fancy of so many folks, who want to get thrills and perhaps also chills all so easily. The star Ocean game consists of inter galactic capers as well as a soap opera kind of feeling that is all so inimitable. Game Preview: Prince Of Persia
There are some games that are all so iconic that you would not be able to avoid these even if you wanted. Some of them come back in rehashed forms which are all so alluring that you would not be able to ignore these or perhaps even put them on the back burner. This is precisely why playing Prince of Persia makes such great sense. It is a game that has seen a lot of versions and yet every time you come up to see a new version, there is something about it that gets you back. This is true of games like both Prince of Persia as well as Sands of Time. there are some people who differ with this, but then that is their personal view, which not everyone is expected to subscribe to.
If you look at these games, these are full of thrills and chills, with so many traps laid out neatly for the unsuspecting fans. This is not only complex but also so unexpected that you would not be able to guess what the next move is going to be. The puzzles are all so great and the special effects mesmerizing to mention the least. Even water gets turned into a performing surface or a platform such that you get lost in wonderful world that is all so amazingly fantastic and tantalizingly spell binding.
Game review: Jimmy Hendrix back in game?
When games and music meet, the results can indeed be quite amazing. This is why there are some many people who are waiting for the return of Jimmy Hendrix in game format. This would be such a heady combination that you will have you feet tapping and a song on your lips in just a jiffy. Jimmy Hendrix is quite a suitable candidate for a game in which he is the lone player as he can carry it off solo, quite well. But then it seems as if the music bonanza would not end. There is not one, but two games that are due for release. For one, there is Rock Band, with Jimmy Hendrix featuring in it, with the other being Green Day.
These are going to be two standalone rock band games that will vie for your attention. It is hoped that the games will be able to do justice to your attention and affections as meeting expectations of such a high order is not easy in the least. It is one thing to meet the expectations of rock and roll fans, and another thing to cater to the desires of avid gamers. But when you try to meet the expectations of both at the same time, it is quite a different ball game altogether, isn’t it?
Dead Rising 2 : Game Review
When you get a chance to do a game review of something as exciting as Dead Rising 2, you thank your stars that you are a game review specialist. After all, it is not every day that you get to review a game as exciting and scintillating as Dead Rising. The original game was developed in Japan and this version has also been helped along its way by the original Japanese team. The game is being developed by Blue Castle Games and hence you can expect quite a lot of action and excitement to go with it. The game is set in Las Vegas and it is based on the idea of killing a set of zombies, similar to what you see in a popular reality based TV show which I shall not name here.
The demo lives up to its reputation of being quite racy. You have to use the new weapon system and you get just 10 minutes of playing time to amass at least 20,000 PPs or points. These points are got by killing the zombies and exerting similar intentioned efforts to go with it. Well, you even get a sledgehammer to help you with the interesting task of bashing brain-dead skulls.
Preview: Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer (Review)
As gameplay concerns, Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer promises to revolutionize the genre completely. Unlike other adventures in the third person, you move the legs of the character with one of the triggers, with the thumb left free to manage the movements of the head.
This will increase the planned interaction factor, since the foreign characters may indicate the stage just watching, a system which appears to go far in everything related to the interaction.
With regard to the most general characteristics of the game, we can say that this is an action adventure with dye film inherited Fahrenheit. This means that no direct combat against other characters, but the action scenes are focused from different angles, and can directly control the character at certain times, while others must share in the classic events in real time.
Unlike what happened in Fahrenheit, it now appears that these events are integrated into the flow of the adventure of a more natural, with its decisive resolution in many cases. But if we fail to overcome any difficulties should not worry too much, because every action has a consequence, with the death of a hero only one.
Each character is just an actor in the history of Heavy Rain can control at least four throughout the adventure. It is estimated that one of the checks are a father and a journalist, all related in some way with a murderer.
At the moment the argument remains locked in the offices of Quantum, and only some premises that have indicated they will be in the presence of a thriller with high doses of suspense. Unlike what happened to Fahrenheit, this time there is no paranormal events, but horrific events but much more realistic.
Still no final release date for Heavy Rain, but it appears that the end of the year of PlayStation 3 users will get this more than promising game, which is gradually becoming one of the strongholds for Sony rioja the remainder of 2009.
