Gadget Review: Flip Side HD
After taking over 40% of the shoot & share video cam market, the makers of Flip Side HD have the freedom to experiment with new design factors. This camera is designed keeping in mind the playback factor more than the shooting aspect with the tilt screen.
At the core the Flip Side HD is just a repackaged Flip Mino HD with the same resolution of recording and uploading. The screen is a 3 inch resistive touch screen that is designed more for viewing purposes. There are no record and stop buttons here as in the Flip Mino HD and the user interface has not been refined for touch screen use, hence it leads to difficulty in recording. The screen is bright enough and has controls on screen for the different aspects of controlling.
Another biggest problem with this camera is the $300 price which can get you a fully fledged camera that has better lenses, better sensors, better video and many more features that are missing here. Even in comparison to the $150 price tag on the younger Flip Mino HD, this thing is not worth the money spent. Hence go for other better options if you just want to shoot and share, but if you are really the kind who likes to rerun your recent recording, then just go for this camera.
