Gadget Review: Asus Eee PC 1201N
This is the latest update to the Asus Eee netbook from ASUS that is trying to penetrate the nonexistent netbook market. It still does not solve the netbook versus tablet debate.
Asus Eee PC 1201N is a slim 1.3” thick netbook with up to 8 hours battery life and a 2 GB or RAM that can be increased to 8 GB, this makes this quite fast. The processor is an Intel dual core Atom 1.3 GHz processor with L2 cache. The screen is a 12” LCD that is a slight increase from the 10” found in the older ASUS Eee PC’s and has vibrant colors. The keyboard is well placed and easy to use. The touch pad is responsive and supports multi touch. The time it takes to boot into the operating system is about 40 seconds. It is even capable of running high graphics games at low clarity such as Team Fortress 2. The PCMark vantage scores were average and are sufficient for a netbook.
The laptop is a fair dealt at $450 and performs at optimum speed. Hence if you are looking for a laptop to browse and for medium multimedia use, then this laptop is perfect.
