Game review: Dynasty Warriors

There are a lot of folks who find Dynasty Warriors quite a forgettable experience. There are aspects of the game that do not inspire much awe or admiration. The game series has just a few basic concepts that seemed to have exhausted themselves. The game was based on the issue of uniting or destroying feudal China. And it was based only on a single controller button,  that seemed to be all powerful in winning or losing the game. And now you have Strikeforce that takes inspiration from the Dynasty Warriors game. There are some who feel that the game does not add much to the older version.  The mashing controller button seems to be all powerful even now.

But there are some aspects of Strikeforce that are rather distinctive. It has some alterations that tweak the game to an extent that it seems quite different from the original Dynasty Warriors. The problem is not distinctiveness.  It’s more about the fact that the game is patently boring and could do with a serious dose of excitement. Now you have small rooms that you have to cross, and while these areas do have a lot of stuff, you do miss the earlier wide expanses of battles in the plains.

Of a killer whale and a hapless whale trainer

There are some lessons you can get from the recent killing of a whale trainer by a killer whale. The tragic incident happened at Seaworld. The number  one lesson is that animals are out to get us. All they want to do is kill us. And it is apt that these whales are named as killers. That’s the right name for these killers, masquerading as whales. The killer whale in question was Tilikum and the hapless whale trainer was Dawn Brancheau. She was gently fondling Tilikum, when the killer whale just snatched Dawn in her jaws and pulled her underwater. It all happened so suddenly that the Dawn was taken by absolute surprise, as were all the horror stricken visitors are Seaworld. Dawn drowned to death, right before everyone’s unbelieving eyes.

It seems Dawn was Tilikum’s third victim. Its second victim was a man by the name of David Dukes. Dukes was a man who was quite obsessed with creator of the game Ultima, Richard Garriott. Dukes had once broken into Garriott’s house and had to be taken out by the police. It seems a few years later, Dukes went into Tilikum’s tank in Seaworld, and was found torn to pieces at the jaws of killer whale Tilikum. You don’t mess with a killer whale and come back unscathed, do you?

Expectations from World of Warcraft

One man’s loss is sometime another man’s gain. It is quite amazing how tables can be turned and how the tide can also change, in a jiffy. There are a lot of people who were expecting Sam Raimi to be part of the Spider-Man project. Well, this was not to be, as it seems that Raimi has ejected from the project. This is why there is a distinct possibility that the feature length adaptation of Warcraft could be advanced by a few years. The exact details of the movie are still being worked out. But there are enough people who would like to speculate on how the movie might shape up eventually.

The Warcarft movie is going to be one with racy storyline, and effects that will be hair raising at the least. The movie would be quite true to the game, and incorporate all the elements that would make it all so interesting to watch. After all, when the movie is based on such a great game, making the movie come up to the standards of the game it is inspired by, does not seem to be such a tough task.  Most movie goers and also avid gamers are watching with bated breath for the movie to be ready and to hit the screens.

Salient aspects of Resident Evil 5

There are times when some games create a deep and indelible impression on your mind. That is why, even you have long stopped playing the game, its memory seems etched in your memory and you just cannot shake it out of your consciousness. One of these games is Resident Evil 5, which so many people and gamers are just gushing wildly about. There are some aspects about the Resident Evil 5, which others found gross as well as regressive. But then, what is regressive to one, can well be exciting and splendid to another. That is why I would like to reserve my own comments about the game, without being guided what others have to say about it.

With the Resident Evil 5, the scenes and the plots involving the mercenaries and all the other effects are so riveting, that as far as I am concerned, I can spend hours with the game. Of course, it would not be right for me to speak for others, given the fact that some have expressed reservations about the game. Frankly, I am amazed about other’s opinion, as I think the world of Resident Evil 5 and the excitement that it is able to arouse in me.

Game Review: Ratchet & Clank

There are some times when you just have to take a call as to what you want to do with things that you may have created, but which are getting along in years. There are also times when you have to realize that ‘ it’s okay to kill your babies’. This is what was told by Insomniac Games President, Ted Trice, which was in the context of games like Alan Wake and also Borderlands. There was a similar situation, when the game Ratchet & Clank was being developed by Ted. It seemed as if the story line of a girl running around with a stick in the Mayan environment was not really cutting much ice with the developers. The game would in any case be considered as a game with mature content and context. It was also quite a dark game, that would have caused such a rating to happen.

This is one of the main reasons that why if you start off with something, it is not necessary that you continue along with that, even if it is not shaping up very well. This is because there was some engagement as well as an attachment to a game under development.

Game review of Star Ocean

The RPG experience in online games is something that has mesmerized a lot of people and kept them quite spellbound. This is not surprising given the fact that the game is riveting to the core, and does its best to keep you absolutely spell bound to its many charms. That is why Star Ocean the Last Hope is one game that a lot of folks are hoping and waiting, for given its amazing and quite alluring features that have captured the fancy of so many folks, who want to get thrills and perhaps also chills all so easily. The PS3 version of Star Ocean the Last Hope is that it comes in so many languages so that people can see it in the English or the Japanese versions, with the option of subtitles in French, German, Italian and Spanish.

The star Ocean game consists of inter galactic capers as well as a soap opera kind of feeling that is all so inimitable.  The refinement in the gameplay means that there are four party members as well as team-oriented combat. The innovative time battle format and system is also there, for the superior gaming pleasure of game enthusiasts. Is it any wonder that the game is such a hit with gamers?

Game Preview: Prince Of Persia

There are some games that are all so iconic that you would not be able to avoid these even if you wanted. Some of them come back in rehashed forms which are all so alluring that you would not be able to ignore these or perhaps even put them on the back burner. This is precisely why playing Prince of Persia makes such great sense. It is a game that has seen a lot of versions and yet every time you come up to see  a new version, there is something about it that gets you back. This is true of games like both Prince of Persia as well as Sands of Time. there are some people who differ with this, but then that is their personal view, which not everyone is expected to subscribe to.

If you look at these games, these are full of thrills and chills, with so many traps laid out neatly for the unsuspecting fans. This is not only complex but also so unexpected that you would not be able to guess what the next move is going to be. The puzzles are all so great and the special effects mesmerizing to mention the least.  Even water gets turned into a performing surface or a platform such that you get lost in wonderful world that is all so amazingly fantastic and tantalizingly spell binding.

Video Game Addiction is why Bobby Kotick doesn’t play them

If you are the boss in one of the most power video game publishers in the world, you wouldn’t be expected to keep off games, right? But sometimes, your passion for the games can actually come in the way of your playing the game, for fear that you would just be fueling your addiction for the game.  This is exactly what’s the problem with Activision Chief Bobby Kotick.  Kotick had come to DICE 2010 to make a presentation, which was greatly awaited. This is when he made a startling admission that he does not really get to check out the games or even give a go-ahead to the products that make Activision so successful.

It seems there was a time in the 1980s when Bobby used to play so much of Defender as well as Modern Warfare 2 that if he got down to playing the game again, he would be unable to carry out his regular responsibilities. This is one of the main reasons why he keeps away from the game, in the best interests of his work, as well as the fact that he is a single dad of three daughters. Video games may be so alluring, but if you get into addiction, the situation can really be less than acceptable.

Viagra Helps You Play Video Games Better

1-[4-ethoxy-3-(6,7-dihydro-1-methyl-7-oxo-3-propyl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidin-5-yl)phenylsulfonyl]-4-methylpiperazine citrate is the IUPUC name for the chemical which goes by the formula C22H30N6O4S and is used to treat erectile dysfunction. That means, when you are not able to get your pecker stand up and take notice of da girlz, because you have been facing 20 hours of Wrath of the Lich King in the World of Warcraft, you consume this chemical and make things right, straight and erect. Dude, I’m talking about Viagra.
Sex is more imp to me than a buncha effing video games (oh, no, did I just say dat! Am I a traitor to the Tao?????). But come on, let’s face it, that’s more or less the truth, right? So I read this study in a Medical journal I found on Elsevier, and it said that prolonged hunchbacked sitting (the gaming posture, if you didn’t know that already!) caused the perineum area to innervate and stop the flow of blood to the genitals. Basically, you can’t get it up if you play too much video games, is what the doc says. Or code for hours. Or hack or launch a DNS attack or whatever the hell you do for fun.
So that’s what was happening to me, and the girlfriend wasn’t too pleased. She doesn’t like Lisa (my Mac) anyway (effing pushover woman), and this ED thing just pushed her to the brink, like, really to the brink. I started getting free advice from friends, family and co-workers, and started using, in that order, an Airdesk, a foamy donut shaped sitting contraption (to keep things suspended in air), a herbal medicine (bitter to the core, and useless) and Tylenol (when the gf got rough and mad). Nothing was helping, until I found Viagra at a sleazy sex toy shop I sometimes (very rarely, mind) like to visit just to check out the scenery.
This Viagra thing, dude, was awesome. I came home with the stuff, took coupla pills that night, and exploded into a semi-priapistic stage that lasted for 5 hours and left both my girlfriend and me half-dead. The priapism was painful – imagine a rock solid hard-on that never seems to subside – but it was by far the best kind of pain I ever had.
Viagra comes highly recommended. The basic substance is known as Sildenafil, which was patented by Pfizer in 1998 and has become one of their most popular products, ever. Take it 30 minutes to 4 hours before sex for best effect. Lots of cheap fakes around, and some may even be harmful; so it’s better you buy your solid erections from a good online shop. And don’t play video games so much (just kidding).

Game review: Jimmy Hendrix back in game?

When games and music meet, the results can indeed be quite amazing. This is why there are some many people who are waiting for the return of Jimmy Hendrix in game format. This would be such a heady combination that you will have you feet tapping and a song on your lips in just a jiffy. Jimmy Hendrix is quite a suitable candidate for a game in which he is the lone player as he can carry it off solo, quite well. But then it seems as if the music bonanza would not end. There is not one, but two games that are due for release. For one, there is Rock Band, with Jimmy Hendrix featuring in it, with the other being Green Day.

These are going to be two standalone rock band games that will vie for your attention. It is hoped that the games will be able to do justice to your attention and affections as meeting expectations of such a high order is not easy in the least. It is one thing to meet the expectations of rock and roll fans, and another thing to cater to the desires of avid gamers. But when you try to meet the expectations of both at the same time, it is quite a different ball game altogether, isn’t it?
