AVATAR, the first game in 3D (review)
On September 10 we had the opportunity to go to the offices of Ubisoft in Madrid to see a demo of the upcoming release of the Avatar game.

At that meeting we first, in the presence of Melendro Angel, head of marketing for Fox Spain, which showed us some videos of the making of the film, and the argument that part of the film. He showed us some sketches of characters and accessories which highlighted the quality of even the smallest detail, as was even the plates that are worn on the uniforms. Like the movie will play in 3D and is expected to premiere in this country have more than 250 rooms prepared for this new way of enjoying movies.
Here we were with Bernt George, director of video game animation. He showed us his operation on the Wii, indicating that the machine have managed to squeeze the maximum. The game can enjoy the Motion Plus, and even in some areas the Balance Board, and the unavailability of these accessories can also enjoy the game.
Also we saw running on an Xbox 360, and was on the platform where we had the opportunity to prove it.
The game is not the typical “open world” but neither is the “linear game” that could appear on each map as well as the main objective there are quite secondary and allowed to move with some freedom. The development of the game keeps you on edge as you can be attacked anywhere and even the middle holder is an enemy because there are certain plants that passed them to attack you or throw items that you are injured. There will be an sort of scanner that will analyze the enemy in question before facing him and obtain information on their strength, causing damage to their attacks, and so on.

During the game you can play as human or as Na_vi that are on the planet and whose blue and 3 meters large, they are renowned. This option will choose to start the map in question. The size difference and characterization left us pleasantly surprised. Are these people who will have the most rudimentary weaponry, in the absence of firearms, but no less effective.
Regardless of which side to decide to play, always will take 4 weapons and powers that have to be mixed in for good measure as some take longer to recharge than others and this can be a problem in certain situations. Besides, you all a varied weapons to attack, flying, etc.. and each adapted to the side with which you decide to play.
The co-op mode we saw a Wii and not a typical “split screen” but any time you could join the game appearing on the screen as a partner to overcome the missions.
As indicated the best feelings we enjoyed playing on a TV in 3D, since the game will come out with such a format, but unfortunately this can only have players from USA and Japan because these televisions will be the Christmas and Europe touch us wait a long time to have these devices available. In any case this does not mean that we can play our usual TV and / or monitors.
Although this is a game based on film, they assured us that James Cameron was overseeing the game development so that even this was taking things to add to the film and this is a side story so you can play without having seen the movie or watch the movie without having played, plus the character we use in the game is not the same film. We therefore hope that this game will surprise us and take us out of the last bad experience of movie-based games.
The release date for the game will be about 10 days before the movie which is currently scheduled for next December 18.
Chapter deserves the attention from the boys and girls from Ubisoft that were outstanding at any time to meet them and organized a nice afternoon.
